Driving home last night, I was trying to think about what I would write today to share about last night and what God is doing in His people, but I couldn’t quite find the words to write. It’s not that I had nothing to share, it’s that there was so much to share, I didn’t know how to summarize it all.
Last night was a first for us as a ministry. We’ve done LIVE webcasts before, but tonight we were able to stream the Fan the Flame workshop LIVE to 5 others locations across Ontario. Over all the locations we had over 250 people join together to study God’s Word. Praise God!
All through the evening I received emails from our trainers at the 5 locations with pictures and videos of all those that were participating in the workshop. I couldn’t help but thank God for each email as I saw how excited everyone was to study God’s Word. God is good, All the time!
It can be so easy sometimes to get caught up in all the details and miss what’s really going on. W
e can focus so much on what we need to do or making sure that everything is going right that we don’t take the time to see what God is doing. Last night I found this to be true for myself, but was reminded to take a step back and thank God for 1. Bringing people together from all walks of life to learn more about what it means to have a passion for Him and 2. for providing an opportunity to use technology is a positive way to reach more people. We couldn’t have done that with Him.
I think the same thing can be said when we study the bible inductively. As most of you may know, I’m one of the newest staff members to be introduced to Precept Inductive Bible Study. Marking up my bible never felt like the right thing to do, but since working here, I’m understanding more and more why it’s so helpful when studying God’s Word. Just like we can get caught up in the details of every day life and miss the big picture, we can simply read through the Word so quickly that we miss what God wants to show us. By taking the time to read through the scripture verses and mark the words, we can begin to learn more about who God is and how He is calling us to act.
In about 3 weeks we will be having a LIVE Webcast (the one that you can watch from the comfort of your home), where we’ll be sharing more about the tour and what God is doing and has done in the lives of His people. If you have been to any of the Fan the Flame workshops and are willing to share your story with us, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org or comment at the bottom of this blog post.
Remember God doesn’t do things in our lives so that we can keep them secret. He does amazing and life changing things so that we can give Him the glory and share God’s greatness with others.
The Cross-Canada portion on the tour will Lord-willing start tomorrow as we fly out to Halifax, NS! Please keep us in your prayers as we travel tomorrow as there’s quite a snow-storm on it’s way. We know that God is bigger than any snow storm so we put our trust in Him!
Till next time!
