In 2 Chronicles 20 Jehoshaphat found himself in an impossible position.  He had heard reports that a great multitude of people were coming to make war with him.  Jehoshaphat was afraid of what was coming, but what I love about these verses is that the Scriptures do not describe a man running away in fear, going into hiding, or trying to come up with the best military plan to counter the attack.  The Bible is so clear: “Jehoshaphat was afraid and turned his attention to seek the Lord.” He proclaimed a fast and all of Judah gathered together to seek help from the Lord.  If you’ve read this historical account, you know that God answered the prayers of Jehoshaphat and the people of Judah, and that as a result, the great multitude – the enemy — was destroyed.

Igniting the Flame.inddFriends, I am heading to war with my team and we desperately need God to show up in a big way.  From February 25 to March 14 I will be heading out with two of our team on the Fan the Flame Cross-Canada Tour.  In December 2015, Precept released the new 40-Minute study called Ignite Your Passion for God. This 6-week Bible study tackles apathy in the church by giving 5 principles that will ignite your relationship with God.  Think about this topic and know that the enemy does not want the body of Christ to wake up from its spiritual slumber and be alert to furthering the Kingdom of God.  This is why this tour is vital, not only to our ministry, but to the local churches who will host us, and to our country.

I am asking that on January 29, 2016, you would set aside your morning for a time of fasting and prayer, much like the people of Judah did in 2 Chronicles 20.  This will be a time for us to beg God to bless this tour with rooms filled with people across the country, as well as for God to work through our Ontario Simulcast (available in 5 locations across the province).

Our team is asking that God would raise up 1,000 people across Canada who would join us in the local church locations as well as online. Think about the potential of 1,000 people attending the training and then going out and starting a study with at least one other person – Lord willing, thousands of people will be presented with the gospel that has the power to ignite a passion and fire for God.

If you will take the time to call upon the Lord on behalf of this ministry, would you take a moment and respond to me?  Let me know that you will be joining us.  You can simply respond to this blog and say “Mark, I am with you and praying for God to work on the Fan the Flame Tour.

Thank you for your willingness to partner with us in this special day of prayer. Please feel free to download the prayer guide (below) to follow along with prayer requests from the different hosts and local trainers that will be involved in the tour.

markOur tour will be in 18 locations over the two weeks with more than 100 volunteers who will serve to ensure that not only our ministry is represented well, but also ensuring that God receives all the glory for what He will do on tour.

Serving Him and you,
Mark

Mark, please count me in as one of those are praying and will continue to pray. A part of my heart’s cry this year is that of the author of this song.

The Holy Spirit came at Pentecost
He came in mighty fullness then
His witness through believers won the lost
    and multitudes were born again

The early Christian scattered o’er the earth
    preached the Gospel fearlessly
though they were martyred- to lions thrown
    they marched along in victory

Then in an age when darkness gripped the earth
the just shall live by faith was learned
The Holy Spirit gave the church new birth
    as reformation fires burned

In later years the great revivals came
as men would seek the lord and pray
Oh once again we need that holy flame
    to meet the challenges today.

    Come Holy Spirit
    dark is the hour
we need your love and your mighty power
move now among us, stir us we pray
come Holy Spirit revive the church today!

I praise God for you, and pray that indeed, he will continue to use you to fan the flames of revival and commitment.

Is the 40 minute bible study Ignite your passion for God a study for believers or for the unchurched.
I will pray for you in the morning before work on the 29.

      Hi Janis

The Ignite Your Passion for God book does not have an evangelistic approach to it…however after running this through a large conference with those saved and unsaved…after the first lesson people realize the problem that distances them from the Lord. If you have eager people willing to sit and study the Word of God then this book will be great.
