You have a great tool at your fingertips to invite your friends and acquaintances to your next Bible study, Facebook! I’ll show you how to create an Event on Facebook and invite your friends.

Step 1: If you don’t have a Facebook account, you’ll need to sign up for one. Click here to sign up or to log in to your existing account.

Step 2: If you don’t have any friends (because you just signed up for Facebook) you need to search for your friends who may already be on Facebook and add them as friends. This can take a few days because they have to accept your friend request. Type the person’s name into the search field at the top of the Facebook page. When you see the person you want to add, select them and then click “Add Friend” near top of page.

Step 3: Once you have some friends go to the Create Event page. There are two ways to get there.

First way (from the News Feed view):

Step 4: A “Create New Event” window pops open, like below. In the first field, enter the Name of your study. In Details, type in the description of the study or copy and paste it from the item description in the Precept Store. Answer the questions Where (a handy feature of Facebook is that if you begin typing the name of your church, for instance, and if your church has a Facebook fan page, it will come up in this field for you to choose and have the street address) and When. You can choose whether only your friends can see the event or whether everyone can see it (if you want your friends to invite friends make it Public). Go to Step 5 before you hit the create button.


Fill in the Event InformationStep 5: In the lower left corner of the Create New Event window, there is a little option “Invite Friends” click on it. A new window opens and shows you all of the friends on your list. Put a check-mark in the box beside the name of each person you want to invite. When you have selected all your friends to invite, click Save. Then click Create.

Step 6: That’s it you’re done! An invitation has been sent to your friends. You can see who you’ve invited by going to your Event page and selecting the event. It will show you a list of everyone who was invited and anyone who has accepted, declined or is a maybe. If you decide to invite more friends or want to edit or add information or comments on the Event. Just go back to the events page, select the event from the list and do what you need to do!
