We made it!! Thank you to all those that prayed for us as we travelled to Halifax yesterday. The flight was fairly smooth until about 15 minutes until we landed. The turbulence was quite strong so it just made for a bumpy landing. For someone who has a bit of a fear of flying, I was very thankful for that armrest to hold onto 🙂
Our time in Halifax was mostly a rainy one but it was also filled with wonderful people on fire for the Lord. I was able to talk with people who had those “aha” moments during their small group time and left the workshop excited to continue the study at home. I may be new at this, but I don’t think it will ever get old seeing people learn more about the bible or realize that even though they’ve read the scripture passages over and over before, there is still something that stands out to them and they say, “I never saw that before.” Praise God for this!
When you think of the east coast what images pop into your head? One of the things I picture are lighthouses. Such a simple structure but a very helpful and practical tool for those on the water. In one sense, the bible can seem like such a simple thing, but when you read it, it is SO much more. In the fast pace world that we live in, it can be so easy to just let the Word of God just pass us by. I pray that we never take for granted the Word of God and never look at it as just a thing we read in church just so we can fill up the sermon time. Yet instead, read it as God is talking to us and showing us ALL that He has done and instructing us in the ways we should live. 2 Timothy is packed with instructions that Paul gives to Timothy of how he should live. 2 Timothy 1:6 says, “For this reason I remind you to fan into flame the gift of God, which is in you through the laying on of my hands.”
May this be our prayer not only for those near to us, but as a nation. May we fully give our lives over to Him and be willing for Him to use us in ways we may have never known.
What are some things that help you “fan the flame” in your own walk with the Lord? Or have gone away from God and come back? What would you say to someone to encourage them to grow deeper in a relationship with God?
We’re on our way to St. Stephen, NB shortly and can’t wait to see all those coming to the workshop tonight!
Till next time!
