Last night’s workshop in Medicine Hat, AB marked the halfway mark for the Cross-Canada portion of the Fan the Flame tour. Wow! So much has happened in just one week. Hearts have been convicted (including mine) and eyes have been opened to new and exciting things in the Word. Exhaustion is starting to set in and as much as we’re getting excited to see our families, we’re just as excited for each workshop and the opportunity to see God at Work in the lives of His people.
Last night was no different. We met people who were on fire for God and their eyes were opened to new things as we worked through the 40 Minute study “Ignite Your Passion for God”. There were also people who at the end of the night felt encouraged and inspired to study God’s Word. Praise God! That’s what it’s all about.
Months before the tour we were praying as a staff for each of the stops that God would work in the hearts of all those that came and now we get to see it. It’s pretty amazing. Writing is not really a gift of mine but I hope that I’ve been able to bring that across through these blogs. For all those that have been praying before and during this tour, a huge thank you to you as you’ve walked beside us and called out to God to do BIG things. He’s not finished yet, and even as this tour winds down, God is still able to do His work in the hearts of His people who are willing.
One of our prayers is that this tour would be a jumping off point for many to get into the Word, but also that the excitement would not die down like so many new and exciting things do. So often we can be so fired up one second and then once a trial comes or the busyness of life kicks in, Bible study gets placed on the back burner. I’ll be honest, this has happened to be more often then I would like to admit. It’s something that I’m working on and now have people in my life to keep me accountable to this which is already helping. If this is something that you struggle with as well, I encourage you to surround yourself with people, maybe you even met them at the Fan the Flame workshop, and ask them to check in with you and encourage you to finish the study. It’s so important. Don’t just let your bible collect dust on a shelf. Read it. Use it. Study it.
- strength and energy to finish off the last week of the tour with the same energy and excitement as the beginning.
- continued safety as we travel
- hearts to be open to receiving God’s truth
We arrived safely in Edmonton today and are excited about going to Faith Community Church and diving into God’s Word once more.
Till next time!
